Infrastructure for sovereign coordination at scale.
Anoma introduces a new approach to blockchain architecture based on the latest research in cryptography and distributed systems design. Uniquely capable of supporting the future of internet commerce, Anoma enables a new generation of enterprise-grade decentralized applications that are intent-centric, private, scalable, and interoperable.
Key features
Anoma introduces the standard for generalized intents, which enable new use cases beyond swaps, and are compatible across diverse blockchains and applications.
Anoma’s state-of-the-art Zero-Knowledge (ZK) infrastructure enables selective data disclosure and and compliant privacy on any blockchain.
With Anoma, applications can be built once while interoperating with state and liquidity on any blockchain that has an Anoma Protocol Adapter (PA).
Anoma’s novel state model enables distributed data and compute, eliminating the need to do everything onchain and unlocking next-level efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

The blockchain command center
Anoma’s Distributed Operating System introduces a new way for developers, users, and applications to interact with blockchains. It sits on top of existing chains, uniting them into a single programmable system. Using Anoma DOS as an interface, developers can build a single application that leverages the services and utilities of any chain as configurable resources.
The Anoma Resource Machine is the engine at the heart of Anoma DOS, and serves a similar role as the EVM does for Ethereum. Based on a novel state and execution model called the Resource Model, the ARM processes atomic units of state called resources instead of step-by-step instructions like conventional blockchain VMs. This enables native intents, programmable privacy, and interoperability as fundamental primitives for applications.
Learn moreAn extension of the commitment/nullifier system originally pioneered by Zcash, the Resource Model combines the best of UTXO and account-based state models. Resources can be used to represent any arbitrary data and can live anywhere: on any blockchain, any user device, any network node, etc. This model gives developers much more control and flexibility over their applications, and is a key component of Anoma’s generalized intents, programmable privacy, and bridgeless interoperability features.
The Anoma Protocol Adapter (PA) implements the Anoma DOS on an existing blockchain (L1s, L2s, etc.). It enables users, developers, and applications to access the Anoma Resource Machine (ARM) and all its features without making any changes to the underlying protocols.
Anoma DOS introduces a new model for controlling and updating state across blockchains with its controller architecture. A key component of Anoma’s generalized intents and bridgeless interoperability features, controllers enable free movement of any arbitrary state (resources), not just tokens. Controllers greatly reduce liquidity fragmentation and enable selective data disclosure across the Anoma Network.
Learn moreThe Anoma Network is the distributed network of parties running the Anoma software, participating in the Anoma economy, developing Anoma applications, and using Anoma applications. It includes the network of deployed Anoma Protocol Adapters, Anoma applications, and the network of Anoma peer-to-peer nodes. Anoma DOS and controller architecture enable the entire Anoma network to be treated as a unified system for writing applications.
Developers can use the Anoma SDK to build applications that leverage the Anoma Resource Machine and its capabilities. Applications can seamlessly integrate Anoma’s private rails on public chains for use cases like private payments, private trading and DeFi, confidential treasury and payroll, agentic payments, and shielded asset management and issuance.
View DocsAnoma’s upcoming consensus system enables a next-generation ‘network of networks’ architecture. It unites existing blockchains and Anoma instances, and features local consensus on-demand for unmatched speed, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. Anoma’s unique design can support an infinite number of parallel instances with seamless interoperability between them, including local 1-of-1 instances, local community instances, internal organizational instances, local and regional governmental instances, and fully public global instances.
